Vor wenigen Tagen war Lead Game Designer William Dyce bei uns auf Twitch zu Gast. Er hat dabei erstmals viele Details zu den Zufallskarten bei Humankind geschildert, die wirklich erfreulich viele Einstelloptionen haben.
Jetzt legt William gemeinsam mit Community Managerin Stephanie Kaiser nach: Unten die erste schriftliche Dokumentation, welche Optionen wir Spieler haben, um die Zufallskarten an unsere Wünsche anzupassen. Natürlich gilt: Das ist der aktuelle Stand zwei Monate vor Release des Strategiespiels.
Zusammenfassend:
- Die Kartengröße lässt sich in fünf Stufen einstellen - von 70x40 Feldern bis hin zu 150x90 Feldern
- Es gibt diese verschiedenen Arten von Zufallskarten: Pangäa (eine riesige Landmasse), Binnenland (ohne Meer, aber mit Flüssen und Seen), Mehrere Kontinente (und dafür mehrere Sets für die Verteilung von Land und Wasser) sowie Individuell.
- Bei den individuellen Karten können wir an vielen, vielen Einstellrädern drehen. Klasse!
The map customization options
Map Size: in five steps, from about 70x40 at the smallest to roughly 150 by 90 at the largest
World Shape Presets: Pangea, no ocean, several options for multiple continents, or customized with the following options
Continent Shape: Shape of the coastlines and distribution of continents: Regular, Average, Chaotic, Custom with the following options
- Continent Spread: Regular or Chaotic
- Continent Shape: Regular or Chaotic
Climate: 9 options covering 3 stages each on two axes (Heat, and humidity), this affects biomes
Land Percentage: From a very low 10% all the way to 100%
Number of Continents: From 1-8, , and options to randomize 2-4 and 1-8
New World: Whether there is a continent not inhabited by players
Island Odds: Few, Some, Standard, Many
World Wrap: Yes or no
Hemisphere: Northern, Southern, or both
Seed: Can enter a numeric seed to recreate a specific world (if the other settings match)
Lake Odds: Four options from None to Many
Lake Size: Three options from Small to Big
Rivers: Three options from Few to Many
Ridges and Cliffs: Three options from Few to Many
Elevation: Three options from Flat to Steep
Of course, most of these options can also be set to "random".
